# Import a program

> Import a CSV or Excel strength program into IronLedger and review its week structure.

IronLedger can turn a supported CSV or Excel spreadsheet into an editable program.

## Prepare the file

* Use clear week and day headings.
* Put one exercise prescription on each row.
* Keep exercise names consistent.
* Use explicit **Week 1**, **Week 2**, and similar headings when the file contains multiple weeks.

    Open the import screen and select a CSV or Excel file from your device.

  <Step title="Review the preview">
    Confirm that weeks, days, exercises, sets, and rep targets appear in the intended structure.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Resolve missing rows">
    If IronLedger reports that no spreadsheet rows were found, check that the file contains a
    supported worksheet with populated exercise rows and export it again.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the program">
    Import the preview, then edit any exercise names or prescriptions that need adjustment.
  </Step>

  Always review imported loads and rep targets before training. Spreadsheet conventions vary, and
  ambiguous cells may not represent the author’s intent.
